If this is true, then the test audience had to have been functionally retarded. At the very, very least, (not even taking into account the extent of Ducky's cool-osity) who the hell wants Molly Ringwald to end up with a guy named Blane???

I think that I read that the book was based on the screenplay, so that would make sense.
I've heard that the DVD includes the alternate ending.
